Govan Pipe Band

A pipe band rooted in Govan's shipbuilding streets — practising every week, competing on the Scottish circuit, and playing for the community that raised us.

The Band

Govan Pipe Band

Govan Pipe Band is a pipe band based within the community of Govan, Glasgow, and brings together pipers and drummers of all ages.

Since 2022 the band has climbed from Grade 4B to Grade 3A, picking up Scottish, British and European medals at every grade along the way — most recently runner-up at the 2026 World Pipe Band Championships.

Today the band is a mix of dedicated and motivated members, playing everything from contests and Highland games to parades, weddings and community events across Glasgow and the west of Scotland.

Replace with the band's real founding story.

Three sections, one sound

Pipe Corps

Highland bagpipes, tuned and taught the traditional way — from first blow to contest-ready in the pipe band's own tune sets.

Drum Corps

Snare, tenor and bass working as one unit — the drive that holds the whole band together on the march and in the circle.

Learners

Practice chanter and drum pad tuition for beginners of any age, moving up into the band as they're ready — no audition required.
